Proclaiming Protection

Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. (Psalm 103:20)

The Hebrew word for voice in Psalm 103:20 is proclamation. This verse tells us of the strength of angels, who diligently carry out God's commands and heed the voice of His Word. Angels excel in strength and are always ready to act whenever God's Word is proclaimed. They are always listening for the declaration of God's truth, including the name of Jesus. Think about it this way: as you go about your daily routine, angels stand by your side, ready to fulfill their assignments. All they need is your mouth to declare the name of Jesus and speak God’s Word. What are you saying?

Whether you're brewing your morning coffee or navigating life's challenges, they are there, awaiting your command through the spoken Word. But they can’t get anything done if you aren’t in control of the words you say. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” So, you’ve got to take your words seriously. What you say will change your life, either for the better or for worse.

Instead of complaining and comparing and magnifying the problem with your words, shift your focus to God's promises and your authority in Christ. Speak words of faith and victory, declaring the defeat of the enemy in Jesus' name.

Every time you use the authority of Jesus and speak the Word with boldness, you make direct assaults against the kingdom of darkness. Put your angels to work and demand the victory that you have in faith. With faith-filled declarations releasing God's Word into the atmosphere, we can unleash the power of heaven to work on our behalf, knowing that angels stand ready to heed the voice of His Word and execute His will.

Practical Application

Remind yourself throughout the day that there are angelic forces assigned to your life. They are waiting to be dispatched to help you. What words are you allowing out of your mouth today? Do they support your angels?
