All People

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. (Matthew 25:31-33)

In Matthew 25, Jesus prophesied about the second coming and the final judgment. In this scene, He tells us that all nations will be gathered. The word nations in Greek is ethnos and means all races, colors, and people groups. No one is preferred above the other. We are all there together but stand before the Lord separately.

There are not numerous groups or categories of who are separated or chosen. All of humanity falls into one of two groups: the righteous and the unrighteous. The righteous are seen as sheep on His right hand, and the unrighteous will be put on His left hand; they are referred to as goats. There is no “kind of righteous,” nor are there groups that are “sort of wicked.”

Make no mistake— there will be a time of rewards and a time of consequence when Jesus returns.

That is why we all must be ready for Christ’s return and productive in doing His will, winning souls to Jesus, and using our talents, time, and treasures for kingdom purposes. We must live ready for Christ’s return.
