Boldness for Healing

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. (Acts 4:29-30)

The disciples didn’t pray for God to solve or reduce their problems. Instead, they prayed for increased boldness to use the gifts of the Spirit. You don't need to pray for a special moment from God to perform healing miracles. Instead, pray for the boldness to use the gifts you already have. Healing already belongs to you.As believers, we can confidently declare, "Healing belongs to me. Health belongs to me." This is not just a hopeful wish or a heartfelt desire, but a covenant promise that we must stand on, even when faced with adverse reports, fear-mongering news, or challenges from the world. Despite threats and opposition, the early believers prayed for boldness. They did not shrink back in fear but asked God to empower them to speak His word with courage and signs following. They got what they asked for.

Healing, miracles, and other supernatural manifestations come from God and are expressed through our actions of faith. When we pray for healing, we are asking God to show His power through us and bring healing to others.

Satan often tries to instill fear in us, especially regarding health issues. The enemy may whisper lies such as, "You have cancer. You're going to die," or "This disease is spreading, and you'll catch it too."  We must combat these lies with the truth of God’s Word. We should declare, "I refuse to fear. I will live and not die, and I will be used to bring healing to others." Stand firm in your faith and trust in God’s promises. He is faithful to heal and deliver.

Practical Application

Speak aloud daily that healing and health are yours. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with boldness to bring healing to others and stand firm in your faith, trusting in God’s power to deliver.

Acts 3:6; Acts 2:43
