Created in God’s Image

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:27-28)

Today, we are seeing a revival in America, but it is not the right revival. Revival can be good or bad; it just depends on what is being revived. Revival happens when people turn back to something they already knew. Today, we are seeing a revival of sinful, unnatural behavior. It is being tolerated and celebrated as something new, but it has been around since biblical times. In every case where sinful and unnatural behavior became dominant, the society imploded. This is a historical fact. The most well-known civilization that fell to sin was the Roman Empire.

Today’s world promotes lifestyles that oppose God’s plan for men and women, as stated in the book of Genesis. God made man and woman in His own image and likeness, and He blessed them. One blessing God gave them was the ability to be fruitful and multiply.

However, society wants to change that image. They want to allow men to pretend to be women and women to pretend to be men. A man doesn’t have a womb, a man can’t get pregnant. You can’t argue with this. It’s disrespectful to women, whom we should honor as those who can birth a human being into the world.

The world also has celebrated abortion, which specifically goes against God’s command to man and women to be fruitful and multiply. You do not get to decide which lives are worth saving and which are expendable. All lives are made in the image of God.

Practical Application

Stand firm, knowing that God created man and woman in His image and likeness. God didn’t give us options regarding our gender. Honor men and women for who God created them to be and respect all life.

Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6
