Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
Some preachers talk about faith enigmatically, as a feeling or an idea, but Paul was clear about teaching the five elements of faith. First, he wanted his followers to understand how faith works.

The five elements of faith that Paul taught were:
Hear the Word - make an effort to be present when and where the Word is preached.
Receive the Word - it's not enough to simply allow the Word to come past your ears; believers must decide to receive what they are hearing.
Believe the Word - After you receive it, you must believe it. Make your mind up that God’s Word is true regardless of what else you see or hear. Believe the Word only.
Speak the Word - Once your heart believes it and your mind receives it, you must speak it! Our words have power! As you declare the Word over your life and your situations, things will begin to change.
Act on the Word - Now that you have spoken the Word with authority and power, you must find a way to act on it in faith. Take some tangible, physical steps by faith.
Paul taught with wisdom and understanding about faith through his teachings, letters, and ministers he sent to continue teaching and preaching the Word to them. We must walk in the same revelation if we want to see victory in every area of our lives.
Practical Application – It's essential for us to constantly review the elements of faith to see what area we need to activate that may be missing in what we are believing for. Look carefully at the areas you are standing in faith and acknowledge what you need to activate for victory.
