And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:22-23)
Faith is not passive; faith takes! Jesus made it clear to His disciples in Mark 11 that faith is not just about believing; it involves speaking, declaring, and embracing what God has already provided. Faith does not sit back and wait; it moves, speaks, and acts! Many people confuse faith with feelings.
Although having an emotional response to the Word or while worshiping the Lord is perfectly fine, if faith is based solely on feelings, what happens when you don't feel anything? Does that mean God is not working? Of course not. Faith is not rooted in emotions; it is grounded in the unshakable truth of God's Word. Jesus didn’t say to think about the mountain moving. He didn’t say to hope the mountain moves. He said to say to the mountain, "Be removed."
Speaking is an action of faith. Your words and beliefs must align with God’s Word, and when they do, mountains move. You may have attended services or prayer meetings where people were shouting and rejoicing—but here’s a vital question: Were they celebrating because they felt something, or were they actively taking hold of the promise of God? Faith doesn’t shout just for the sake of noise. Faith shouts because it knows the victory is already won.
Practical Application
Begin speaking the Word over your situation. Don’t wait to feel it. Faith speaks, acts, and takes before you emotionally experience it. Don’t feel your way into faith; faith your way into feeling.
