Freely Given

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

God did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all - what an amazing statement recognizing the love the Father has for us! How can we doubt that He who gave so much will not also freely give us all things? The word freely is important to note because it means that we did not earn it. It is a gift from God. And the word all is significant as well, for it means that there is nothing that God will withhold from us.

Now, when we talk about things, we may think of material possessions, but it is not limited to that. God wants to bless us in every area of our lives - spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. He wants us to prosper in all things and be in health, even as our soul prospers. But let me be clear, prosperity is not just about gaining wealth simply for ourselves. We are called to be good stewards of what God has given us, and to be used as an outlet for God to bless others. It is not wrong to have money or material possessions. God wants us to prosper so we can be a conduit of His blessing to others. We are wrong if our focus is solely on accumulating wealth for ourselves. We should have a heart of generosity, just like our Father in Heaven who freely gives us all things.

Money is not the root of all evil, but the love of money is. Our heart attitude towards money is what matters. Do we see it as a means to bless others or do we treat it selfishly?

We should pray and believe for those who have been blessed with great wealth to come to know the love of Jesus and use their resources to further His Kingdom. Imagine the impact it would make if they were to fund the Gospel and help spread it to every corner of the world.

Practical Application

Ask the Lord to help you have a heart of generosity; then thank God for His goodness and provision in your life. Use the blessings He has given you to bless others and bring glory to His name.

John 3:16; Psalm 84:11
