God is Preparing You for What He has Prepared for You

Writer: Bishop Keith ButlerBishop Keith Butler

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art. (Genesis 41:38-39)

Joseph's rise to authority and power wasn’t solely due to his natural talent. God bestowed upon him revelation, wisdom, and favor. Joseph was quick to honor and praise God during both good and challenging times. When you honor and celebrate God’s presence in your life, it sets you apart from those around you. This kind of life brings insight, wisdom, and favor that others may not fully understand, but they recognize it in you.

Pharaoh recognized that Joseph was more than just a “dream interpreter” or a “nice guy.” He saw a man brimming with wisdom and leadership potential beyond his years. Joseph was clearly different from those around him. Don’t be afraid to stand out; God intends to “set you apart” for His glory and your benefit!

Because Joseph lived a life of obedience and reverence to God, he was promoted from the prison to the palace in one day. When you rely on God’s wisdom and trust Him, following His way rather than your own understanding, God positions you for favor and leadership.

Joseph didn’t have to claw his way to the top. He didn’t resort to anything outrageous or out of character to gain recognition. He didn’t beg or plead before Pharaoh. God set him apart to prepare him for greatness. When you live for Him, God will make sure the right people notice you at the right time.

Practical Application

Trust in God’s timing and walk in integrity while pursuing excellence. God is preparing you for what He has prepared for you. He will place you before great men and ensure that the right individuals recognize you at the right time, as long as you remain faithful.

Daniel 4:18; Job 32:8
