And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. (Joel 2:26-27)
God provides for both our natural and spiritual needs. Joel’s prophecy declared God’s promise of restoration and provision. God said, “Ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied.” This speaks of natural provision, ensuring you have everything needed to fulfill whatever God calls you to do. He also said, “My people shall never be ashamed.” In fact, He repeated this twice in these verses. This refers to spiritual security and freedom from shame and disappointment. When we trust in God, we are freed from the bondage of guilt and shame.
God cares about both our physical and spiritual well-being! He desires for you to be free and provided for, lacking nothing. Our natural needs are met through the reception of the spiritual; it should all begin and end with gratitude and worship. When we recognize that these provisions come from God, our hearts should overflow with praise.
God is both our Provider and Protector. In His presence, He promises abundance, satisfaction, and security. We are called to trust Him, walk in confidence, and respond with praise! Declare aloud today that you will never be ashamed, for God is with you!
Practical Application
Reject shame when the enemy tries to remind you of your past. You have been set free from guilt and shame. Instead, praise God when those feelings arise, remembering He has given you freedom.
