Power in the Blood

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (Romans 5:8-10)
Paul wrote to the Roman Christians that God‘s love was demonstrated through action. Jesus went to the cross and died while we were still sinners. This means He didn’t wait for us to have our lives together, make the right choices, clean ourselves up, or prove our worth to Him. He loved us so deeply, even in our broken state, that He sent Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins. God‘s salvation has nothing to do with our goodness and everything to do with His mercy.
Through His blood, you have not only been forgiven but also justified and declared righteous. The sacrifice that Jesus made transformed you from a sinner into the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You don’t fluctuate in and out of righteousness. If you have accepted Jesus and follow His commands, this is your identity. That is why I conclude my prayers with “by His blood" and “in the name” when I pray. It signifies that I am qualified to offer this prayer and that it should be answered, as Jesus’s sacrifice has washed away my sins and made me righteous.
When I declare, “the blood of Jesus,” I’m reminding the devil that I am covered and cannot be cursed. I remind him that I know my position in Christ.
Using the “blood of Jesus" changes my confidence and understanding. I no longer view the problem in the same way. I’m not focused on my past issues, performance, or preoccupations; I am reminded of the power of His blood, and through it, I am forgiven, freed, and made new!
Practical Application
When doubt and fear try to overwhelm you, declare, “I am blood-bought and blood-washed!” Remind yourself that because of His blood, your past is redeemed, your identity has been transformed, and your future is secure.
