With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Psalm 91:16)
God wants to give us a long and satisfied life. After all, a lengthy life without satisfaction isn’t something anyone wants.
Salvation translates from the Hebrew word yesua, which encompasses much more than just deliverance from sin. It means deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity, health, and help. So, this psalm tells us that God will provide aid when you need assistance. He will bring you victory when you find yourself in a battle; He will bring prosperity into your hand when there is lack. He will give health to your body when it is being attacked, and He will help you when you need advice, wisdom, or direction.
This salvation is not contingent upon our circumstances or our age. God’s care is constant, and His promises are continual. Whether you are young or old, whether the economy is up or down, whether those around you are successful or failing, God’s promise is still valid.
God cares for your needs, and as a good Father, He has plans to help you move forward with His calling and purpose for your life. Trust God for your spiritual needs and physical, emotional, and relational well-being. He has plans of salvation and wants to see you walk in them.
Practical Application
Are you seeking fulfillment in worldly things, or are you finding your contentment in God alone? When we focus on God, we can experience true satisfaction beyond our circumstances.
