Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. (Isaiah 59:7)

As believers, we are called to pray for those involved in any form of the shedding of innocent blood. Unfortunately, our nation has had its hand in the death of millions of innocents who had no way to protect or defend themselves. The lives of the innocent are precious to the Lord, and He wants their lives spared.
Abortion is evil. This should not even be a question for Christians. Abortion is an abomination to the Lord and there are curses attached to any society who accepts it as normal.
Even science agrees that abortion is the taking of a life. Doctors can detect a heartbeat as easily as eleven days after conception. They can call it a fetus all they want, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is a living human being growing inside of a mother’s womb.
Some people think we should give a pregnant woman an opportunity to end a life based on how that life was created. However, a human life is a human life, no matter how it came to be.
One of my best friends is Dr. Phil Goudeaux. He was conceived because of a violent rape by a predator. However, his mother understood that there was a life growing inside of her and she refused to end it. She gave birth to her son and gave him up for adoption. Later, that son became the pastor of Calvary Christian Center in Sacramento, California, and ministers to tens of thousands of people. He has done marvelous things for the Lord. Thank God his mother did not shed innocent blood and end his life before he was born!
Practical Application
Pray for those who have been misinformed about God’s truth on the matter of abortion. Pray for women who are making tough decisions regarding their pregnancy. Pray they would have support and believers around them would help them choose life. Pray for politicians and medical professionals to turn their hearts to the Lord. Pray that society honors the truth of the Word of God over popular opinion.
