For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (Romans 8:24-25)
As Christians, we are called to live a life of hope. Hope is not just a fleeting feeling, but a confident expectation of the things that are to come. It is a powerful force that keeps us grounded in faith and steadfast in our belief that God is faithful to His promises.
Hope is not just wishful thinking or blind optimism. Instead, it is being certain with a supernatural confidence that what God has promised is coming to pass. Genuine hope is always based on the truth of God's Word so we can have that absolute assurance that He will fulfill His promises.
Why do some struggle with hope? Well, hope is unseen. We cannot see it with our physical eyes, but we can sense it in our hearts. This hope gives us the strength to endure trials and persevere through difficult times with an attitude of positivity and assurance. We know that our hope is not in this world, but in the world to come.
When we wait for the fulfillment of God's promises, we are supposed to wait with patience. This is not an easy thing to do, especially when we face trials and difficulties. But we remember that our hope is in God, and He is faithful to His promises. We must trust in His timing and His plan for our lives.
The Apostle Paul reminded us in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that of faith, hope, and love, the greatest of these is love. Love is the foundation of our faith and our hope. It is through the love of God that we have been saved, and it is through His love that we have hope for the future. It is through acknowledging and understanding His love for us that allows us to operate in hope.
Practical Application
